POOLE, Howard Henry

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Thursday, December 23, 2010 Howard Henry Poole (1922-2010) Howard Henry Poole, 88, passed away December 16, 2010. He was born May 14, 1922 and lived in the Buffalo, N.Y. area. Howard served in the Merchant Marines in WWII and attended Cornell University. He married Jean Landel June 12, 1948 and moved his family to the Verde Valley in 1959. He loved hiking, camping, kayaking, and gardening. He retired from Phoenix Cement in Clarkdale in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughters, Susan Mayer of Cornville, Sandra Montiel of Camp Verde, sons; Gary of Gulf Breeze, FL, Scott of Pace, FL., plus 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He deeply touched many lives. Join our family in a Celebration of Life on January 8, from 11AM to 3PM, at the American Legion in Cottonwood. We love you. Information provided by survivors.
