The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 25, 2010 Olive Boyle died Dec. 22, 2010, at her home in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Manhattan, Kan., the daughter of Ollie and Lucy (Lee) Reed. Olive was 93 years old. Olive graduated in 1939 from the University of Michigan with a degree in English in preparation of becoming a teacher. Olive and Edward moved to Arizona in 1966 and to Prescott in 1978. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish for a number of years. Olive's priorities were her family and her religion. She loved children, laughter and travel. She attended mass and recited the rosary daily. She was a very giving person: as a Eucharistic minister, adopting an orphan in Mexico, and as a caring visitor to nursing homes. She was also a very active volunteer, working with the Food Bank and Head Start Program in Phoenix. She was loved by all, including the wonderful caregivers of Home Instead and the dedicated staff of Hospice Family Care. Olive is survived by her son, Dennis of Avondale, Ariz.; daughters Mary Spencer of Santa Clara, Calif., and Kathy (Arvid) Magnuson of Yreka, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her beloved, Sampson. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph in 1953, daughter Anne in 1962, husband Edward in 1981, son Edward Jr. in 1999 and daughter Patricia in 2009. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, with visitation one hour prior at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, Prescott. A Funeral Mass will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery.
