LARSON, Larry Reed


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 28, 2008 Larry Reed Larson died April 17, 2008, at hospice in Lakeside. He was born in Woodruff.He attended school in Holbrook. Larry was diagnosed with cancer in January 2008, when they found a tumor in his colon and a body scan done to figure out how to remove that tumor found a few small tumors in his stomach and liver. Doctors were unable to operate to remove the tumors. Larry was given about six months to live and placed in hospice April 1. Then on April 16 the hospice doctor said he had maybe a week or two left because the cancer was so aggressive. He passed away peacefully and in no pain at 6:45 p.m. He served his country in the Army from Nov. 16, 1960, to Nov. 17, 1962. He married Sharon Flack in March of 1963, they had a son, Keith, in December 1963 and daughters Tami in November 1966 and Brandi in August 1970. They divorced in 1982. Larry met Karen Ruark in 1982 and married in August 1982. They had daughter Kara in June 1983 and son Glenn in September 1985. Karen had three daughters from her first marriage, Maci, and the twins, Tiffani and Charlena. Larry was known for his jewelry business, The Silvertwist, and for bowling on leagues. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, making and selling jewelry, teaching people to bowl, coaching Little League, watching football and baseball, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. He was a wonderful grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Karen; children Keith Larson, Tami Kincanon, Brandi Sanchez, Kara Larson, Glenn Larson, Maci Bamrick and Tiffani Kingsland; grandkids Robert, KayLynn, and Rebecca Kincanon, Natoshia and Brittany Larson, Krys and Tyler Sanchez, Kylee and Brandt Ruark, Erin Kitchen, Keiran Kingsland, Robert, Rachael, Courtney and Kaitlyn Bamrick He was preceded by his parents, Reed and Jean Larson; brothers Glen and LeRoy Larson; and stepdaughter Charlena Ruark.
