The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 1, 2008 Connie Conception Baca, 95, died surrounded by her family April 27, 2008, in Snowflake. Connie was born Maria Conception Zamora, July 2, 1912, in Tome, N.M., to the late Abel and Manuela (Torres) Zamora. Connie is survived by five sons, Roman (Donna) Baca of Wisconsin, Ralph Baca of Snowflake, Sammy Baca of Snowflake, Raymond (Dorothy Dickson) Baca of Snowflake and Morris (Peggy) Baca of Colo.; three daughters, Rosie Gabaldon of Snowflake, Mary Ann Baca (John Girardot) of Snowflake and Mela (Bernie) VerStratton of Lake Havasu; 40 grandchildren and 95 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Regina Levine and Angie Duran; son Exie Baca and two sons-in-law, Pete Gabaldon and Charlie Duran. A rosary was held Wednesday, April 30, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Snowflake with Mass Thursday, May 1, at the church. Arrangements were handled by Owens Mortuary Heritage Chapel in Snowflake.
