Teodora "Nora" Kay Romero, 60, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at her home in Springerville. She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Mogollon, N.M., to Emil Romero and Della Madrid Romero.
Teodora was a wonderful mother and grandmother to all. No one was a stranger to her. She was a grandmother to all and a spiritual influence to everyone.
She is survived by her fiancé, Michael McCormick of Springerville; sons Lawrance Hill of Springerville and Mark Hill of Springerville; daughters Della (Anthony) Romero of Springerville and Susan (Francisco) Padilla of Springerville; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers Robert Lee "Chili" (Margie) Romero of Whiteriver and Emil "Sonny" Jr. (Annie) Romero of Phoenix; sisters Helen (Joe) Fernandez of Lakeside, Emma (Jesus) Chaparro of Mesa, Kate Romero of Glendale, Gloria Pacheco of Snowflake and Adela (Arnold) Reyes of Queen Creek; 21 nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces, nephews and 15 great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Teodora was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Romero and Della Madrid Romero of Lakeside, and one sister, MaryLou Archuleta of Mesa.
Rosary was held Tuesday, May 6, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Springerville. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, May 7, also at the church. Interment followed at the Springerville Cemetery.
Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
