Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Thelma Inez Wood died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in the early morning hours at her home with her loving family gathered around her. She was 69.
Thelma was born July 5, 1938, in Tucson to Ernest Everett and Mary Euline (Allen) Harmon. Thelma lived a few years in Alabama, however, since 1974 she made Arizona her permanent home. She worked many years as a secretary in the drywall construction industry and was a joy to work with.
She is survived by her husband, Perry Clarus Wood of Show Low; son Theodore Cameron Mullins of Union City, Ind.; daughter Cynthia Lea Jordan of Mobile, Ala.; stepson Perry L. Wood of Tucson; three brothers Charles (Bonnie) Harmon of Dudleyville, Joe (Pat) Harmon of Tucson and Robert Chavez of Queen Creek; four sisters, Marcia (Mickey) Peddie of Wagon Wheel, Ernestine (Ed) Crews of Show Low, Dora Atherton of Lakeside and Gloria (Odell) Griffin of Oracle; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Per Thelma's wishes, private family services will be held a later date.
