WALDEN, Carl John

3 March 1907 - 2 November 1986 Tempe -- Carl John Walden, 79, owner and operator of Walden Insurance Agency, died Nov. 2, 1986, at Desert Samaritan Hospital and Health Center. Mr. Walden, of Tempe, was born in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, and moved to Arizona in 1979 from Washington. He attended the University of Idaho and was a life member of the Kiwanis Club and member of the Masons, Shriners, Tempe Art League, South Mountain Festival of Arts, Washington State Insurance Board, Knights of Pythias, Sigma Nu Fraternity and a former member of the Colville, Wash. City Council, where he was president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout of America Leader and was awarded the Silver Beaver award. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis I.; daughter Karen; son, John Carl; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Village Convocation Room, 2645 E. Southern Ave. Tempe Mortuary made arrangements.
