The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 15, 2008 Davis Knight Jr., 31, of Whiteriver died May 12, 2008, in Phoenix. Davis was born April 20, 1976, to David Sr., and Fern Ivins Knight in Whiteriver. Davis was loved by many friends and families. He enjoyed spending his time in the mountains fishing and hunting. He loved children and cooking. He was athletic and enjoyed the sports of rodeo, basketball, football and horse shows. He was part of the Alchesay Falcon Basketball team who won the 2A All State Champions in 1992. He worked as a wildland firefighter for Federal Fire Management. Davis lived in Arizona all of his life and graduated from Alchesay High School. He is survived by his son, Dominic Reece Knight, and companion Lorencita Cosay; father Davis Knight Sr.; brother Edwen Goklish; and eight sisters, Bonnie Knight Kayson, Luticia Knight, Cora Hinton, Janet Quintero, Avis Kindelay, Mavis Knight, Shelly Knight and Kylnn Clay; grandmother Celena Gokish; goddaughter Becky Clawson; and godparents Alvin and Beulah Thompson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern Ivins Knight. He will be taken home for the wake at North Chief Avenue, Diamond Creek No. 4918, in Whiteriver Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at the Open Bible Church in Whiteriver with interment at Baha Cemetery in North Fork. Arrangements were handled by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor and Whiteriver.
