Gladys Louise Carlson of Show Low went peacefully to be with her Lord May 13, 2008, from her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Elk City, Okla.
Gladys moved to the White Mountains in 1966 and had lived here since. She was a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship in Show Low, Eastern Star and White Mountain Square Dance Club.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Carlson; three sons, Don and Verda Wooden of Rio Frio, Texas, Wayne and Joyce Wooden of Paola, Kan., and Delmar and Cassandra Wooden of Morning View, Ky.; stepchildren Skip and Kay Carlson of Lakeside; Mick and Shirley Carlson of Huachuca City, Mary Ann McNeil of Show Low and Kathy and Lawrence Steed of Colorado City; 63 grandchildren; 164 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mabel and T.F. Genn; stepchildren Becky Stubbs and Arley McNeil; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 15, at New Hope Christian Fellowship in Show Low.

Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
