Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Markey, 85, died May 11, 2008, in Lakeside. She was born July 5, 1922, in Antigo, Wis., to Leo and Wanda (Lalande) Bouwens.

She was raised in Wisconsin and moved to Arizona in 1968. In 1947 she married Del Snyder, who passed away in 1992. In 1997 she married Jim Markey, who passed away in 2001. Betty was an attentive wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Paul) Till and Joy Snyder, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services were held Thursday, May 15, at the New Living Church in Lakeside.

Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
