Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - James Gary Trubia of Lake Havasu City died on June 3, 2010. He was born on May 14, 1953 to James J. and Faye (Vacca) in Syracuse NY. He grew up in Lomita, California Jim joined the Air Force as a firefighter in 1971. He started his career dream to fight fires. He spent four years in service to his country. Jim married his high school sweetheart June Begbie on July 7, 1973. Jim spent his lifetime in the fire service. He worked for the government on military installations then located at West Covina, Ca. He retired from West Covina Fire Department in 1985. He went on to work for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs as the training coordinator. The family moved back to California where he was the Fire Manager for UCLA. Jim then became, Fire Chief at Anderson Valley Fire Dept in Mendocino California. He had a short stint as the Chief at Crooked River Ranch, Oregon Fire Dept. He ended his career at the University Of Oregon. Jim retired due to heart problems. Since retiring to Lake Havasu City in 2008 Jim volunteered for the Lake Havasu Fire Dept’s C.E.R.T. Volunteering his time to help the firefighters out at fires and other community events. Jim has always placed the needs of others above himself. Jim will be missed by his loving family, two children Derek (Analyn) Trubia of San Antonio Texas, and Jamie (Mark) Holland of Annapolis Maryland. Grandchildren, Marco, Mariah, Aiden and Keegan. His one sister Pamela (Henry) Arnold, and family; Diane & Mike Webber, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. And of course his Fire Department family. Memorial service will be Sunday June 6, 2:00 P.M. at Grace Arts Theatre 2146 McCulloch Blvd. Reception to follow.
