David Charles Mink died of cancer in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Sept. 26, 2010.
Dave was born in Burlingame, Calif., April 28, 1954. He spent his childhood in Burlingame and graduated from Mills High School.
He earned a degree in forestry, graduating with honors from UC Berkeley's College of Agriculture. Dave worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Northern California. In Arizona, Dave helped build a Colorado River diversionary tunnel to provide water for Phoenix.
Dave made his home in Parker, Ariz., where his handiwork can be seen throughout the town. He planted trees to provide shade from the desert heat, and could build or fix just about anything. Dave was a voracious reader with a sharp wit and sense of humor.
He spent many years working with Tow Truck Mark where he met life-long friends, Mark Schifo and Linda Cox, his second family.
Dave is survived by his father, Charles, and step-mother, Carol; his sister, Christine Mink; his brothers, Stephen Mink and Gilbert Mink; his sisters-in-law and two nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, the late Margaret Pitts Mink.
