The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 19, 2008 Jimmie Lee Petersen, 72, died May 16, 2008 in Clay Springs. He was born June 14, 1935, in Snowflake to Mary Blanche Peterson and Thorwald Woodrow Petersen. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jimmie worked for ADOT for 27 years in the Sign and Striping Department as a mechanic and retired in 1997 as a highway technician. He also worked in the logging industry as a heavy equipment operator. Jimmie loved to farm and was a lifetime member of the Arizona Rangers. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Marian Lawrece; 10 children, Jimmy Roy Petersen, Judy L. (David) Wood, Mary Arvilla Granato, Doyce "DoDo" Woodrow (CoCo-Coleen) Petersen, Lenna S. Wilkie, Violet J. Knight, Arley D. Petersen, Mary Esther Petersen, Blanche Irene Petersen and Lawrence Woodrow Petersen; 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Louise (Bill) Barrows, Clara (Lloyd) Reidhead, Thora Perkins, Janet (Albert) Crandell. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m, Tuesday, May 20, at Owens Mortuary 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clay Springs Ward Building with a visitation one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Clay Springs Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
