JACOBSEN, Erling Johan


Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Published Tuesday, September 7, 2010 - Erling Johan Jacobsen also known as "Jake", 63, passed away in his residence in Yuma, Ariz.,Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010. Jake was born in Fredrikstad, Norway Oct. 7, 1946. He was raised in the United States where he later in life was a Marine and followed with employment with United States Border Patrol and continued his career working for San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department in 1982 as a dispatcher. In 1984 he became a Deputy and worked in Parker Dam, Calif., area until he retired in 1998 for medical reasons. Jake was a strong man who loved his family and friends deeply. He loved his profession and even though he retired early he had a love for his law enforcement family that never died. He was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. Our family couldn't have been more blessed by having him in our lives and they will never be the same without him. He had a deep passion for horses, guns, cars, and John Wayne. We miss you already and our memories of you will never be forgotten. Jake was preceded in death by his wife of Naomi Lynn Jacobsen and his grandson Darrian Adams. He is survived by his mother; Dorothy Bruno; his sister Beverly Bruno; daughters, Rebecca Adams, AnnMarie Makowsky; his son, Eric Jacobsen; his grandchildren Kyra Adams, Myah Adams, Katelin Makowsky, Matthew Makowsky, Gracie Makowsky.
