Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Published Friday, August 20, 2010 - Jan. 28, 1924 - Aug. 12, 2010 Alberta Lou Campbell, 86, of Parker, Ariz., passed on to be with Jesus, Aug. 12, 2010. Alberta moved to Parker in 1991, after retiring from a 25-year career as Howard Hughes' private secretary. Alberta was past president of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post in California. After moving to Parker she immediately got involved with the local VFW. Her love for people and work lead her to join the American Legion, Moose and Does where she served as secretary and loved every minute of her service. Alberta was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and just last year became a great-great-grandmother. Alberta is survived by her two sons, Jerry Spencer and Bill Spencer, both of Parker; four granddaughters, two grandsons, six great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter. Alberta spent her last days in the loving care of hospice nurse Melinda and caregivers, Dorothy Carr, Pam Bookmen and Katrina, who showed her respect and loving compassion. Thank you all for your dedication to those you serve. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Alberta's life, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m., at the Upper Room Church, located at 1108 11th St., Parker. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to Hospice of Havasu. Alberta passed on, not away; we will see you soon Mom.
