Mary DeSpain, 86, died peacefully March 31, 2008, in Winslow. Mary was born June 16, 1921, in Bolivar, La., to the late Robert "Red" and Emma (Hillibert) Hutchinson.
She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Liberty Chapter No. 23 and a member for over 50 years. Mary was also a past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She was active in the Navajo County Horse Racing Club for a number of years.
Mary worked at the First National Bank of Arizona. Later she worked for Bud Johnson, Bob Fisher and retired working with her husband's Ray DeSpain Sand and Gravel in Holbrook. Mary loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Lynn Marie DeSpain of Arizona; son Bob (Pat) DeSpain of Holbrook; grandchildren Wesley (Dolores) DeSpain of Holbrook, Michael Ozment of Arizona, Sherrie Ozment of Holbrook as well as nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray DeSpain and grandson Danny Ozment.
Her family has suggested contributions to Extended Care, 216 Joy Nevin Ave., Holbrook, AZ 86025.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, April 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Holbrook Chapel Owens Mortuary 409 N. 1st. Ave. in Holbrook.
