James William Carroll, 68, of Surprise, AZ passed away on January 18th, 2004 after a courageous battle with Renal Cell Cancer.
Beloved husband of Karen Rae, devoted father to Bobby (Tonia), Jimmy, and Susie Carroll, and faithful friend to many. He is also survived by granddaughters Ashley and Elizabeth Carroll, brother Tom (Rose) Carroll, sister Prue (Rod) Hermes, sister Kathy (Jim) Saxton, brother Dave (Patty) Carroll as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born on August 15, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was married to Karen Rae for 44 glorious years. He and Karen retired to Sun City Grand in October of 1999 from Des Plaines, Illinois where he worked as a salesman for Chicago Sweeteners for many years.
Military Service: US Army, Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Moose Club, the VFW, as well as the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and was president of the Men's 18 Hole Club at Sun City Grand.
Jim will always be remembered for his amazing sense of humor as well as his wonderful ability for compassion and caring. Jim touched the lives of everyone he knew and his spirit will continue to thrive forever in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his father William and mother Virginia.
Services were held on Monday, January 26th, 2004 with visitation at Camino Del Sol Funeral Home in Sun City West. A funeral mass was held at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West on Tuesday, January 27th. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, 1234 Shermer Avenue, Suite 203, Evanston, IL 60202-1375.
