Phillip Donald Dennis, 66, of Gilbert passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side on January 20, 2004 at the Citadel Care Center in Mesa.
Don was born in Troy, NC, and worked for Consolidated Coin Caterers in Charlotte & Greensboro, NC and retired, from Canteen Corp. in 1993.
Don and his wife of almost 45 years, Linda, moved to Gilbert in 1996. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many callings and as a Temple worker in the Mesa, AZ, Temple until his health began to fail. Don led an exemplary life and was stalwart in his faith and good works. He loved his family and devoted his life to taking care of their needs. He was a kind man, and his life was fulfilled in being a great father and husband. His passing will leave an empty place for all who loved him. He will be sorely missed.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, son Phillip, Jr of Charlotte, NC, Joel C. of Mesa, AZ, his mother Pauline Dennis of Charlotte, brother Bobby Joe Dennis and his wife Sue of Mt. Gilead, NC, sister Patsy Craddock and her husband. Bill of Matthews, NC, three grandchildren, McKaye, Parker, & Jackson Dennis, four nieces and three nephews. Don is preceded in death by his father, Ronzo Dennis.
All services will be at Bunker Chapel, 3529 E. University Drive, Mesa, with Family visitation Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday. Interment will be in Huntersville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mission Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, c/o Bishop Rick Turley, 1141 E. Princeton, Gilbert, Az, 85234.
