Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Wednesday, December 29, 2010 Scott Wayne Ross, 52, of Flagstaff, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at his home in Flagstaff. Mr. Ross was born Aug. 24, 1958, in Billings, Mont., and moved with his family to Flagstaff in 1974. He is the son of Donald and Norma Ross of Flagstaff. He is a 1977 graduate of Coconino High School, where he excelled academically, as well as in football and basketball. He moved to Durango, Colo., where he graduated from Fort Lewis College and began his career in teaching and coaching in Durango and Ignacio, Colo. He later brought his passion for coaching to the young athletes of Mingus Union High school. Mr. Ross is survived by his loving son, Kyle Matthew Ross; his parents, Donald and Norma Ross; sister Donna Ross-Mitchell (Alan); grandfather Lloyd Ross; two nieces; four nephews; and 13 great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Kimberly Sue Ross and Julie Ann Ross-Burrup. A memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, in Flagstaff.
