The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 7, 2008 Marie Clare Stamper died March 29, 2008, in Redlands, Calif. She was born Aug. 1, 1932. She resided in Show Low for many years. "We all miss her smiling face and great good humor." She asked to be cremated, and her family is making arrangements to bring her home to Show Low for her funeral Mass and burial. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 14, 2008 Marie Clare Stamper died March 29, 2008, in Redlands, Calif. She was born August 1, 1932, in Mitchell, S.D. After graduating from high school she went to nursing school and became an registered nurse. She worked at Redlands Community Hospital in California. When she moved to Show Low she was employed by Navapache Regional Medical Center, now Summit Healthcare, working in many departments as a staff nurse and in various supervisory positions. Marie will long be remembered in the community as a friendly, enthusiastic, dedicated nurse. When she retired from nursing, she joined Coldwell Banker and worked in the real estate market. She was a member of the National Board of Realtors, a member of the Emblem Club, Elks and many other civic and community organizations. She was a very active member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Show Low. She was an original member of the Bereavement Committee and also served on the financial council. She was a real asset to the community in Show Low, always very involved in its growth and development. She was very loving and caring of her friends and neighbors. Marie is survived by her son, Joseph Stamper, and his wife, Rachel; two grandchildren, Scott Thomas and Tracee Marie Stamper; great-granddaughter Rachael Sierra Raque; her sister, Ann DePinto; niece Catherine Duncon and Daniel DePinto of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Stamper. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at St. Rita's Catholic Church.
