CLASSAY, Minor (Dan), Sr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 14, 2008 Minor "Dan" Classay Sr., 67, of Whiteriver died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at a Tucson hospital. He was born April 26, 1940, in Whiteriver to Lester and Louise (Wool) Classay. He was raised and attended school in Whiteriver. He married the former Roberta Hinton July 22, 1964, in Holbrook. He worked for more than 10 years for the U.S. Forestry Service and later worked for School District No. 20 for over 15 years retiring in 1990 as supervisor of the bus barn. He was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include his wife, Roberta; children Minor Classay Jr., Debbie Bead, Dino Classay, Tina Classay, Marty Classay and Roberta Lupe; daughters-in-law Vikkie Classay and Mitzi Classay; sons-in-law Richard Bead Sr. and Eddie Lupe Jr; sisters Teola Palmer, Yolanda Harvey, Rosie Bead and Shirley Altaha; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A wake service was held at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 6, at his residence at house No. 2 on East Sycamore in Whiteriver. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 8, at the Open Bible Lutheran Church in Whiteriver. Burial will follow at the Seven Mile Cemetery.
