The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 17, 2008 Martha H. Quinn, 91, of Scottsdale died April 11, 2008 in Scottsdale. She was born in Omaha, Neb. the daughter of Ernest and Frances (Oliva) Hladik. Martha spent most of her working life as a teacher with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Martha was a communications instructor for the Army Air Corps during WWII. She graduated from Southern State Teacher's College in Springfield, S.D. where she served as Dean of Women. She received her Masters from NAU. Martha lived in Arizona for 52 years, mostly in the Casa Grande and Show Low areas. She was a member of the Show Low Emblem Club, the VFW Auxiliary and the Navapache Hospital Auxiliary. She also belonged to AAUW and BPW. She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1967. She is survived by two sons, Terrence (Margaret) Quinn of Show Low and Kelly (Karen) Quinn of Scottsdale; seven grandchildren, Lewis, Martha, Ted, Bryan, Sean, Kriss and Kyle and 12 great grandchildren. Charitable contributions may be made to the Arizona Humane Society. A private family celebration of life will be held.
