Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Published Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - Maleta E. Sublett, 90, formerly of Sedalia, Mo., died Jan. 19, 2010 at the Maples in Springfield, Mo. She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Seneca Kan., daughter of Delbert and Fanny (Wetmore) Neiberger. Maleta married John Sublett, who preceded her in death. Maleta was a friend to everyone she met. She was very active in her church as a member, secretary and taking care of the elderly and their pets. she was also a life member of the VFW. She worked for Lamy's Manufacturing and Rival before her retirement. In 1978 she and John moved to Arizona, which was her home until 2009. Maleta is survived by her children: Nina Becker, Des Moines, Iowa; Penny Williams, Green Ridge, Mo.; John Sublett Jr., Oregon; David Sublett, Springfield; Sherry Ray, California; Christine Davis, Sedalia; three sisters, Mary Estes, Virginia Caton, June Warren, all of Sedalia; 11 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Maleta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Graveside funeral services were held Jan. 25, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
