John King, a winter resident of Bouse, was welcomed home by his Lord on Jan. 1, 2010. He was born in Long Beach, Calif. to Joseph and Marriette King on Jan. 11, 1945, and was raised in Texas until his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1956. After graduating from high school, they moved to Long Beach, where John got his associate's degree in aircraft mechanics. While he was there, he met and married Susan in 1965. A year later, they moved back to Anchorage, where they raised their two daughters.
John was a member of Ironworkers Local 751 until he moved to Snohomish, Wash., where he started a towing business. He helped start a car care clinic for single moms through his church in Washington.
