Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published Monday, December 31, 2007 - Barbara (Wottrich) Swanson, 77, passed away Dec. 24, 2007, at Eagle Crest Assisted Living Center in Roseville, Minn. Barbara was born May 8, 1930, in Milwaukee to Norman and Gladys (Carrick) Bennett. She married Rolland Wottrich Aug. 12, 1950. He passed away in 1987. She later married John Swanson in July 1990. Barbara had been a Tomahawk resident since 1960, and had been a music teacher for many years. She was a former member and organist for Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk for 37 years, and was a former member of the Gray Ladies. Barbara enjoyed spending the past 22 winters in Arizona. She is survived by her husband, John Swanson, of Superior, Minn.; her son, John (Terri) Wottrich, of Roseville, Minn.; her daughter, Karen (Dale) Thomas, of Kingman; two stepdaughters, Vicki (Tony) Garro and Julie (John) Sigafus, both of Superior; four grandchildren, many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rollie; an infant son, James; one sister, Beverly; and one stepson, Dennis. Funeral Services were held Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Ziemer officiated. Burial will take place in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk. Krueger & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family.
