Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published Monday, December 24, 2007 - James Sydney Stafford, 56, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, in Lake Havasu City. He was born March 25, 1951, in Eugene, Ore. James has been a resident of Arizona since 2001 from Hillsboro, Ore. He served proudly under the direction of the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and Coast Guard Auxiliary. He enjoyed walking, golfing, fishing, hiking, working stain glass and traveling. James is survived by his wife of 24 years, Zana Stafford; son, Corey Stafford; daughters, Chellsie Stafford and Christie Stafford; brothers, Donald Raymond, Clayton Stafford, Fred Stafford and Ricky Stafford; sisters, Kathy (Jesse) Mack, Jacque (Richie) Hall, Vicky (Terry) Taylor and Sheila Harris; sisters-in-law, Zondra Hanni, Arnetta (Steve) Johnson, Elena (Douglas) Searles and Zale (Dwight) Hoffenbacker and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Stafford; brother, Steve Stafford and a twin sister at birth. Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Rev. Richard Rounds. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James' name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
