Howard Clarence Engelbrecht, 85, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born June 9, 1922 in Two Rivers, Wis., to Henry W. and Erma (Zermuehlen) Engelbrecht.
Howard moved to Lake Havasu City 27 years ago from Engleside, Ill. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers and attended Aeronautical School of Aviation and Lewis College of Aviation for two years in Lockport, Ill. Howard retired from Commonwealth Edison in Chicago, Ill., after working 3l years. He also retired as Master Chief of Aircraft Maintenance from the U.S. Navy reserves, serving 23 years, with four years in active duty.
Howard had a strong faith in Jesus and was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. At various times, he served as President of the congregation and on many of its boards and committees. In his more able years, he dedicated much time and energy to the building projects of the church. Howard loved to golf and be with friends. He was also involved in the Anglers United fish habitat program.
Howard was a true gentleman and known for his kind heart. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
Howard is survived by his sister, Lois E. Cowling, of Lake Havasu City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Callista, and his parents.

A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Words of wisdom and comfort will be expressed by Pastor Timothy Hartwig.
