RAY, Clovis


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 10, 2008 Clovis Ray, 93, of Peoria died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born May 29, 1914, in Benton, Ill. Mrs. Ray was raised and attended school in Benton. She married Roy Ray in 1935 in Chicago. She lived in Chicago Heights, Ill., until coming to Arizona in 1968. She was a homemaker and worked in retail sales. She enjoyed quilting and baking. She was of the Church of Christ faith. Survivors include granddaughter Tammy (Charlie) Zollman of Pinetop; two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne and Dakota Norling of Phoenix; great-grandson Ryan Ray Zollman of Surprise; and son-in-law Roger Matthias of Prescott. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Betty Matthias and granddaughter Kim Baumann. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
