SHERWOOD, Wendell Franklin

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 13, 2008 Wendell Franklin Sherwood, 84, died at the Friendship House in Eagar Sunday, March 9, 2008. He was born in St. Johns Oct. 15, 1923, to John and Adelaide Sherwood. He was one of 10 children. Wendell served his country in the U.S. Army. He and his brothers built a lot of the block buildings in the Eagar and Springerville area. Wendell is survived by his daughters, Veronica James of Sanders and Verlaine James of Houck; and his sister, Gloria Sherwood of Richeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth, who passed away in 2006; and a son, Ralph Sherwood. A visitation was held Wednesday, March 12, at Burnham Mortuary in St. Johns. Graveside services followed at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled the arrangements.
