NOVAK, Joseph Alvin


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published Friday, December 7, 2007 - Joseph Alvin Novak, 86, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City. He was born Oct. 18, 1921 in Scotland, S.D. After returning from WWII, Joseph settled in Los Angeles, Calif. He worked for Pacific Bell, AT & T for over 30 years. Joseph was a very intelligent, inventive man who lived life on his terms. He loved golf, crossword puzzles and puttering around the house. In fact, he could fix just about anything. Joseph especially adored spending time with all his grandchildren. In his final retirement years, Joseph and Cleo resided in Lake Havasu City enjoying the sunshine and desert sunsets. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Cleo Ruth Fogle Novak; his daughter, Susan (Tom) Woodmansee, grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley; step-children, Mary Beth (Bruce) Hill, grandchildren, Philip, Janelle and Cheryl; great-grandchild, Spencer, Janet Monson, grandchildren, Shauna, Aaron and Lisa, Charles Fogle and Carol Knight, grandchildren Dina and Matthew; two sisters, Dorothy (Bud) Rohla, and Mildred Cooley; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his five other sisters and brothers, Alice, Evelyn, Raymond, Violet, Wesley; first wife, Edna Earl Glascock Novak; his step-child, Richard Eagle; and his parents, Joseph and Mary (Placek) Novak. Memorial services will be held Sunday on the Dixie Belle, boarding at 11:45 a.m., at the English Village, Lake Havasu City.
