Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 17, 1987, page 2-A Graveside services were conducted Monday by Wickenburg VFW Post No. 2682 for George William McClain, 92, a former Wickenburg resident. The graveside service followed memorial services conducted by Hassayampa Masonic Lodge No. 37 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Mr. McClain was born Oct. 22, 1894 in Illinois. He died earlier this month in the VA Hospital in Phoenix. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I, where he received the Purple Heart before being discharged in 1919. He lived in Arizona for 45 years and in Wickenburg until 1985, before being admitted to the VA Medical Center in Phoenix. He was a member of the Bellville, Ill., Masonic Lodge No. 852. He was survived by a niece, Ailen Gaterman, of Girard, Ill.
