Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Friday, November 30, 2007 4:33 PM MST Former Lake Havasu City resident, Lyle Holweger, 73, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at his daughter's home in Alaska from lung cancer. Lyle was born Feb. 20, 1934, to Sam and Lucille Holweger in Grand Forks, N.D. Lyle farmed, commercial-sprayed and managed Johnston Oil Company until he moved his family to Centralia, Wash., in 1980. He retired from Weyerhauser Co. in 1998 and shortly after moved with his wife Shirley to Lake Havasu City. Lyle and Shirley loved living in Lake Havasu City and enjoyed their walks in Rotary Park and along the canal. Lyle enjoyed his weekly games of golf at Bridgewater Links Golf Course with his dear golfing friends. Lyle is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley who died in 2004 from cancer. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Ellen (Dave) Essert, of Soldotna, Alaska; grandsons, Jon and Kyle; his son, Jerry Holweger, of Rochester, Wash.; and grandson, Tyler. A service will be held next summer in North Dakota.
