A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department investigative team has concluded that a 32-year- old Wickenburg man killed last week in a single-car accident died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Sgt. Jay Ellison of the MCSO Public Information Office said the five-member team has confirmed that Larry Lowe shot himself in the head while driving his vehicle shortly after 6 p.m. on Luray Drive one-half mile east of Steinway Drive.
Lowe was initially reported to have died of massive head injuries in the rollover accident. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix where he was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m.
Ellison s aid detectives were sided in their investigation by the county Medical Examiner’s Office, which confirmed that Lowe died of a bullet wound to the head.
Lowe was born Oct. 2, 1955 in Ohio. He was a surveyor for the Campbell Oil Co. and had lived in Wickenburg for the past four and one-half years.
His body was returned to Millersburg, Ohio, for burial at the cemetery in Killbuck, Ohio.
