Services were Wednesday in Eugene, Ore., for Alice Reid, 94, a former Wickenburg resident who died Oct. 18 followings surgery in a Eugene hospital.
Mrs. Reid was born in Tempe on Jan. 28, 1893.
Her father was a miller at the old Hayden Flour Mill in Tempe, and in 1900 the family moved to the Congress mine.
She married Jim Brown a local cattle rancher, in 1909. The couple made their home in Congress area until his death in 1921.
Mrs.Reid then lived in Wickenburg, moving to Eugene in 1944.
She is survived by her second husband, Luther Reid; nine children, including sons Garth (Brownie) Brown of Wickenburg, Dave Brown of Eugene, Ore. and Stanley Brown of Alaska; daughters Katherine Robinson of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Alice June of Eugene, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
