Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday at the Heritage Funeral Chapel in Youngtown for Byron Richard Young, 58, of Circle City.
The Rev. Lee Wallace of the Valley of the Sun Christian Church of Wittmann will officiate.
Burial will follow at Floral Lake Cemetery in El Mirage.
Mr. Young died Sunday, Dec. 6, in good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix following a long illness.
He was born March 27, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Mr. Young moved to Arizona in 1970 from Alto, Mich. He was a truck driver for Hooker Motor Freight Co, in Grand Rapids, retiring in 1968.
He was a teamster for 22 years, and a veteran of the Korean War.
He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, and also a lifetime member of the National Rifleman’s Association.
Survivors include his wife, Jacky, of Circle City; two sons, Richard T. of Circle City, and James R. of Wellston, Mich.; three daughters, Janice Savage of Williamsburg, Mich., Jody Opstad of Wittmann, and Jola Underwood of Wickenburg; two sisters, Joyce Towns and Betty Exton, both of Grand Rapids; and 15 grandchildren.
