Theodore Joseph Voss, 61, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 in Lake Havasu City. Ted, as he was known to his family and friends, was born Feb. 19, 1946, in La Mesa, Calif., to George and Lula (Smith) Voss.
Following graduation from high school in 1965, Ted enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country for three years in active duty. He then joined the army reserve and served in the reserves for an additional 30 years.
Among Ted's hobbies were taking his family camping, hiking, hunting, traveling and gold prospecting. But most important to Ted were his children, Heidi and Brandon. Ted and his wife made Lake Havasu City their home three years ago coming from Visalia, Calif.
He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance in Visalia and attended the Havasu Alliance Church. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA and belonged to the Gold Seekers Club.
Ted is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deberah; son, Brandon Voss, of Lake Havasu City; and daughter, Heidi Voss, of Visalia, Calif.
Visitation will be held on Friday, at Lietz-Fraze Chapel from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services and military honors will take place on Saturday also at Lietz-Fraze Chapel at 2 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor John Maki.
A Celebration of Ted's life will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the Parkside Chapel in Visalia, Calif., on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
