Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Saturday, January 01, 2011 Alta Wilhelm, 98, died Dec. 30, 2010, in Peoria. Mrs. Wilhelm was born April 23, 1912, in Portland, Ore. Mrs. Wilhelm was involved with the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Flagstaff and the American Cancer Society. She loved her family, painting and genealogy. She is survived by her daughters, Diane McLaughlin, of Glendale and Sharon Venables, of Fulshear, Texas; six grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilhelm was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Wilhelm. Visitation is Jan. 4, 2011, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim and St. Anne Catholic Church, 11625 N. 111th Ave., Sun City. Memorial contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
