TRELLA, John (Doc) D.C.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 27, 2008 Dr. John Trella, D.C., lovingly known as "Doc," died a year ago April 7, 2007. His family and friends in the White Mountains will be saying their final goodbyes and celebrating his life on the anniversary of his passing. The celebration of Doc's life will be held Sunday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at Unity of the White Mountains, 257 N. Woodland Road in Lakeside. All who knew and loved Doc are invited. Doc was born John Edward Trella Aug. 30, 1926, to Anne and Michael Trella in Canonsburg, Pa. He grew up in Hessville, Ind., served overseas in the Navy during WWII and attended Purdue University. Dr. Trella graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1969 and cared for patients for 27 years in Tempe. He semi-retired in 1996. Doc moved to the White Mountains in 1998 and continued his care of patients for another six years. He enjoyed bowling and the friendship and camaraderie of the bowlers in the Show Low area for over seven years. He also loved fishing and listening and dancing to big band music. In 1957 Doc married his wife, Phyllis. He was active in supporting her artistic work and was a founding member of the Arts Alliance of the White Mountains. Dr. Trella is survived by his wife, four children, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
