Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, Arizona - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from January 2 to January 9, 2011 - Charlotte Rose Anderson Raines, age 87, of Thatcher, Arizona, and formerly of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010, in Safford, Ariz., following a prolonged illness. Charlotte was born May 11, 1923, in La Porte, Indiana. She was a former resident of La Porte, Ind., Roy, N.M., Los Angeles County, Calif., Eagle Mountain, Calif., Banning, Calif., and Sarasota, Fla. She was preceded in death by her lifelong husband, Harley Hason Raines; her parents, Phillip Lysle and Lillian Lorene Anderson (Biggs); son, Roger Raines, Sr.; two grandchildren, Leslie Renee Raines and Eve Raines; brother, Norman "Bud" Anderson; sister, Phyllis "Irene" Zook; and grand-daughter-in-law, Glena Scholl Watson. Charlotte is survived by four daughters, Sharon Watson, of Idaho, Carol "Shamen" Starr of, Safford, Ariz., Lorelei Hunter of Calif., and Marjorie "Pinkie" Cavinder of Ind.; daughter-in-law, Dona Auckerman of Calif.; two brothers, Bob and Bill (Audrey) Anderson; sister, Jeanette Bradburn and sister-in-law, Ada Anderson, each of Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Roger Raines, Jr. (Shelly) and Faith Raines, of Calif., Ken Watson, of Safford, Ariz., Joe Watson, Jr, of Alaska, September (Lance) Swinney, of Ariz., Jennifer Malmquist (John), of Ind., Gerald Finley (Christina), Jason "Scotty" Finley (Veronica) and James Hunter (Chantelle), of Calif., Brian Hunter (Diane), of Bullhead City, Ariz., Carl Hunter (Lori), of Calif., Chad Hunter (Debbie), of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Jeremy Hunter, of Texas; and 24 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Charlene, Mark and Chloe Raines, Chance Hood, Kennon, Sydney and Lauren Watson, Arizona, Opal and Dakota Swinney, Mercedes, Lane and Ian Pritchett, Issaya, Ayden, Tanner, Kiele, Kalani, and Kassidy Finley. A funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Vining Funeral Home in Safford, Ariz. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Ariz.
