Maxine (Smith) Riggs, 77, of Phoenix, Arizona, died on Sunday, November 24, 2002. Funeral services were held at Phoenix and memorial services will be in Belmond in July, 2003. Maxine was born near Galt on January 13, 1925, graduated from the Belmond High School and married Gene Riggs of Belmond. Maxine has a sister, Velma Frohling of Belmond, and a sister, Leola Sheller of California. Two children survive.
