Jolene Case died peacefully Feb. 16, 2008, at Desert Cove Nursing Home in Chandler. Jolene was born Nov. 11, 1940, in St. Johns.
She was the second of five children born to Kent Pearce and Agnes Shreeve Pearce. Jolene married David Case July 14, 1956, in Susanville, Calif., where they made their home, except for a short time when they lived in St. Johns.
They had three daughters, Debra of St. Johns, Cindy (deceased) and Rosemary of Susanville, Calif.; and a son, David of Surprise. She moved back to Arizona in 2006 to be closer to family as her health became a worry.
Jolene was a friendly and outgoing person. She never met a stranger and was blessed with the gift of visiting. She enjoyed nothing more than having a cup of coffee with friends early in the morning. Family was especially important to Jolene and she loved to hear and tell the stories of family history.
Jolene was preceded in death by her best friend and lifelong companion, David A. Case, daughter Cindy; two infant sons; her parents; and one brother, Donald Pearce.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Case and Rosemary Case; son David; one granddaughter, Charlotte of Mesa; two brothers, Neal (Buzz) Pearce of St. Johns and Mike Pearce of Coldwell, Idaho; her sister, Claudene Postert of St. Johns; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held for Jolene at the St. Johns Stake Center March 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to the hospice nearest you.
Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled the arrangements.
