MARSHALL, Etsuko

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 29, 2008 Etsuko "Nakamura" Marshall, 75, was called into everlasting life with her Heavenly Father Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. She was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Osaka, Japan. Etsuko met her true love Jim in Japan and they were married for 50 years. Etsuko was very proud in receiving her citizenship. She loved family time and get-togethers. She cherished playing with her grandkids and having long talks with her daughters, always laughing and happy. She is remembered working out to Jack La Lane and doing step aerobics and jogging in her 70s. She also loved to bake and volunteer for her church. Mom had a special relationship with Jesus Christ and loved Him very much. She was an awesome cupcake maker and room mother. She was quite the shopper too and always in style. Etsuko is survived by two brothers, Keiji and Keizo; four sisters, Yoshiko, Chieko, Sueko and Kyoko, who all live in Japan. Etsuko was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall; and her granddaughter, Mishell Morgan. She is survived by her daughter, Roseann Hiatt of Ind., Carla Morgan of Chandler and Miyoshi Bond of Phoenix; six grandkids and one great-grandson. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 29, at Advantage Funeral Home (Golden Door Chapel), 11211 Michigan Ave., Youngtown, AZ 85363, with a viewing at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Cave Creek. Jim's ashes will be buried in Etsuko's casket with the color guard salute. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Make a Wish foundation in memory of Etsuko.
