The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 29, 2008 Jessica LaDawn Young, 23, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. She was born Feb. 1, 1985, to Jack Young and Julie (Ward) Hancock in Show Low. She graduated from Valley Union High School in 2003. Jessica was a loving and devoted mother. She was a selfless and kindhearted person who always went out of her way to help others. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Holbrook. Jessica was a real cowgirl who loved horses and rodeos. Jessica is survived by her son, Caiden Thomas Justice; fianc Jacob Justice; birthfather and his family; father Merrill Young; stepmother Michaela Young; brother Joshua White; sisters Lindsey White and Kristin Young; uncle Frank Young; aunt Juanita Young; grandfather Lee Young; stepgrandmother Sharon Young; birthmother and her family; mother Julie Hancock; father Jed Hancock; and sister Caitlin Hancock. She is also survived by uncle Michael Ward; grandparents Ken and Ann Ward and Lois and Gerald Hancock; grandmother Jill Ellsworth; great-great-grandparents Paul and Beth Ellsworth; godparents Dan and Kelly Greene; along with numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends. Her grandmother, Lynnette Young, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at the Church of Christ, 335 W. Erie, in Holbrook. A gathering of family and friends will follow the services at the Holbrook Fire Station No. 3. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
