WILLIAMS, Carl Edward


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 4, 2008 Carl Edward Williams died Feb. 28, 2008, at the Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson. He was born in Everton, Ark., on Oct. 25, 1929. Carl was born to Joseph Hugh and Lottie Young Williams and was the youngest of six children. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1946 to 1949. He moved to Eloy and met his true love, Joyce Jean Lamb. They married in 1951 and raised four children, Ron and Regina Williams, Rick Williams and Dwayne Williams, all of Tucson, and Carly and Kevin Funk of Lakeside. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Brant, Mace, Lanae, Wesley, Anya, Rikki, Willie, Rani, Brandon, Josh, Lyndsay and Kaleb. The most recent joy in his life was his only great-grandchild, Kate. He is survived by his children, two sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, his parents, a sister and two nieces. A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 4, from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, March 5, at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at Owens Mortuary in Show Low.
