COX, Marguerite (Margo)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 1, 2008 Marguerite "Margo" Cox, 85, died Jan. 24, 2008, at Bannon Springs in Vernon where she had been a resident for four years. Margo was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Electra, Texas to John James Martin and Dovie Virginia Pate. She graduated from Morton High School and went on to become an executive secretary for Shell Oil Company at the Martinez Refinery in Martinez, Calif., for over 30 years. She retired and eventually settled in Morton, Texas, where she was a member of the East Side Church of Christ. Margo is survived by her son, Mike (Lorna) Cox of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dink Cox, who passed away Dec. 24, 2003; her parents; and 10 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held all day Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Ellis Funeral Home in Morton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, at the East Side Church of Christ in Morton. Burial will follow at the Morton Cemetery. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled the arrangements in Arizona.
