Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona February 4, 1988, page 2-A Graveside services were Tuesday at the Wickenburg Cemetery for Lemuel I. Brown, 94, of Salome, who died Jan. 31 in Lake Havasu City. Pastor Delbert Henderson of the First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg officiated. Mr. Brown was born Dec. 13, 1893 in Baylor County, Texas. He had lived in Arizona for 71 years. He ran the mill at the Vulture Mine outside of Wickenburg during the 1930s and 40s. In 1944, he helped start the Bagdad Mine. During the early 1950s he assisted the federal government in stockpiling manganese in Wenden. He retired in 1958 from the Mohave Mill near Alamo. Following his retirement, he lived near relatives in Salome. Survivors include two sisters, Annie Campbell of Salome, and Nell Simcox of Wickenburg; two brothers, Hayden Brown and Arthur Brown, both of Salome; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
