Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 17, 1988, page 2-A Private cremation was conducted at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for Gerald Avery, 72, of Wickenburg, who died March 13 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. Mr. Avery was born March 20, 1915 in Salina, Iowa and had lived in Arizona for the past five years. He married Florence Burnaugh on Nov. 16, 1935 in Florence, Iowa. He was a lifetime member of VFS Post No. 2271 of Fairfield, Iowa. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Florence, of Wickenburg; two daughters, Mary Wolf and Illinois and Barbara Cross of Kansas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
