Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 31, 1988, page 2-A Margaret Hawkins Riggs, a former Wickenburg resident, died March 18 in San Diego, Calif. Services were March 22 at the North Chapel Naval Training Center in San Diego. Mrs. Riggs was the wife of A. Wayne Riggs, Director of the Naval Chaplain’s School in Newport, R. I. She was born in Jerome, and was raised in Wickenburg, graduating valedictorian from Wickenburg High School in the Class of 1951. She went on to graduate with honors from Arizona State University, and then taught school in California. Survivors include a son, Steven; a daughter, Rachel; and her mother, Helen (Mrs. Carl) Hawkins, who was a teacher in Wickenburg High School from 1943-1973.
