Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona April 7, 1988, page 2-A A memorial services is scheduled Sunday, April 17 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg for Samantha Newman, 77, of Wickenburg. Mrs. Newman died April 1 in Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City, following a prolonged illness. She was born July 5, 1910 in Buckley, Ill., and had lived in Wickenburg for the past 12 years. Before coming to Wickenburg in May, 1976, she resided in Warrenville, Ill., with her husband and family. Mrs. Newman was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Wickenburg Gem and Mineral Society, the Wickenburg Area Board and the Wickenburg chapter of the American Association of Retired persons. She was also a director of the Wickenburg Community Services Corp., and a member of the Friends of Music. Survivors include her husband, Donald J.S. Newman, of Wickenburg; a daughter, Judith Ann Klauke of Green Bay, Wisc.; a son, David, of Mesa; two sisters, Florence Weerts of LaCrosse, Ind., and Esther Goehring of Valparaiso, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
