Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the First Presbyterian Church for Carl Hoch, 78, of Wickenburg.
Mr. Hoch died April 3 at Boswell Hospital in Sun City.
Following private cremations, his remains will be scattered in the desert northeast of Wickenburg.
Hr. Hock was born Nov. 4, 1909 in Germany, immigrating to the United States in 1931 to Pittsburgh, Pa.
He later moved to Chicago, and came to Wickenburg in 1978.
He started his first retail bakery in Chicago in 1940, and subsequently owned a number of bakeries in the area. In 1963, he and his son Charles, founded a specialty wholesale bakery, now know as Parco Foods, Inc., with offices and manufacturing facilities in Blue Island, Ill. and Michigan City, Ind.
Mr. Hoch was a devoted horseman. He was active in the Wickenburg Shrine Club, was a member and treasurer of the Desert Stags, and member of the Wickenburg Horsemen’s Association.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 37, the Wickenburg Elks Lodge, Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Los Caballeros Golf Club, and the Wickenburg Golf Club.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary, of Wickenburg; his son, Charles A. and wife, Ann, of Orland Park, Ill.; two sisters, Wilma Hoch-Woithon and Maria Wagner, both of Laichingen, West Germany and two grandsons, Charles A. Jr. of Michigan City, Ind., and Thomas A. of Chicago.
